Mission Legacy Awards 2023

The Mission Legacy Award is the highest honour bestowed by our organization to those who have contributed in an exceptional manner to the healthcare ministry of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Hamilton.

Last year, we hosted a special recognition ceremony on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. Participants joined us via the live broadcast at or attended in person in the Frank Charles Miller Amphitheatre at Charlton Campus. Attendance was open to all our dedicated staff, physicians, learners, volunteers, researchers, and board members, as their presence at this significant event made it even more memorable.

During this event, we celebrated the exceptional contributions of:

The community of St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton shared a deep belief in the values that our founders, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Hamilton, instilled in our organization: that it was an honor to serve – and, in particular, to ensure that those most vulnerable and marginalized had access to compassionate, high-quality care.

The prestigious Mission Legacy Award recognize extraordinary individuals who have made an exceptional contribution to the health care ministry of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Hamilton, St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton (SJHH), St. Joseph's Health System (SJHS), and/or the St. Joseph's Healthcare (SJH) Foundation.

Nomination Process & Form

We encourage any individual(s) (internally or externally) to nominate a deserving individual or group/team as a candidate to receive the Mission Legacy Award. The nomination of posthumous candidates is also welcome.
