Hamilton bus service suspended due to transit worker strike
All St. Joe’s patients, families and healthcare workers who use Hamilton Street Railway (HSR) bus and transit services are asked to make alternative arrangements with a transit disruption occurring on Thursday, November 9, at midnight. Hamilton’s accessible transit service provider, DARTS, will not be affected.
We understand this transit service disruption will disrupt routines for our community members and their families. We want to ensure that you arrive at our hospital and return home safely.
All St. Joe’s community members who use HSR services to get to and from our campuses are asked to plan alternative transportation arrangements, such as carpooling, etc.
Below is some guidance when travelling to the hospital during a transit disruption:
- Plan ahead to leave early and get to the hospital.
- Consider alternative transportation options, such as: carpooling with neighbours or co-workers, Hamilton’s Carpool Zone program (Smart Commute), Hamilton Bike Share, etc.
- Proactively reach out to the clinic to discuss options for adjusting your appointment if required.
- Stay informed by following the City of Hamilton’s updates. The city announced that they will continue collective bargaining. We will continue to monitor the evolving situation and share relevant updates with our community.
