Monthly feature: Respiratory Therapy Team and Ms. Terry Wallace 2020 Mission Legacy Award winners
Late November we celebrated the 2020 Mission Legacy Award ceremony at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton. The Mission Legacy Award recognizes key individuals who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to contribute to the legacy and mission of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Hamilton, St. Joseph's Health System, St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton and its Foundation.
Each month we will feature a few of the award recipients to share a bit more about how they have made meaningful contributions throughout their time with our health care organization.
This month we feature the Respiratory Therapy Team and Ms. Terry Wallace, Spiritual Care Support Volunteer at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton.
Respiratory Therapy Team The Respiratory Therapy team lives the mission and the values daily. Throughout the pandemic, the team has been critical in caring for the most vulnerable COVID patients who required intubation and mechanical ventilation. From being present in the Emergency Department, to the ICU, and active at every Code Blue, the team does everything they can to ensure the safety and dignity of every patient is maintained.
Ms. Terry Wallace Whether it’s bringing communion to patients on Sunday or preparing the chapel for service, Terry Wallace demonstrates dedication to the Mission and Vision of St. Joseph’s. Terry sees those that are suffering and makes every effort to provide them with companionship and empathy. Her energy and warmth have a positive effect on those around her. She interacts with patients and families with the utmost respect and dignity which makes her a worthy recipient of the Mission Legacy Award.
