Our Dovetale Team won the Canadian Health Informatics Project Implementation of the Year Award
Last week, the St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton’s Dovetale team was selected for the Canadian Health Informatics Project Implementation of the Year Award by Digital Health Canada over 100 other applicants from across Canada.
This Canadian Health Informatics Award (CHIA) recognizes a team (in our case, St. Joe's and our partner EPIC) that implemented the most successful health IT solution at a healthcare organization based on a set of criteria. As the award winning team, the Dovetale team’s project successfully demonstrates the achievement of stated objectives and has a story that other organizations can learn.
St. Joe’s partnered with Epic Clinical Systems, recognized as an international leader in hospital information systems, to build and go-live with Dovetale in December 2017. Epic’s solutions are in use at 20 of the top 20 best hospitals in the United States according to the US News and World Report as well as a number of hospitals around the world. The St. Joseph’s system is called Dovetale and is a nod to its namesake, the carpenter. Much like the dovetail joint brings together and strengthens two pieces of wood, Dovetale links compassionate care with some of the most advanced digital applications on the market.
The roll-out of Dovetale and the advancement of St. Joe’s to HIMSS Level 6 have placed the organization among the ranks of Canada’s elite. Buoyed by this honour, plans for attaining the highest rating of HIMSS Level 7 are on the horizon.
Congratulations to the St. Joe’s Dovetale Team!
