Ontario’s Information and Privacy Commissioner is coming to Hamilton

May 11, 2018 – 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. St. Joseph’s Healthcare Centre West 5th Campus 100 West 5th Street Hamilton

Ontario's Information and Privacy Commissioner (IPC) is coming to Hamilton on May 11.

Commissioner Brian Beamish will headline an informative event at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Centre, West 5th Campus that will focus on the emerging access and privacy issues facing the province’s health and public sectors.

This free, special event is one of a series of public meetings held across the province by the IPC as part of its Reaching Out to Ontario (ROTO) outreach program to update Ontarians on access, privacy and personal health information matters.

ROTO Hamilton will feature a variety of discussion topics including:

  • the burgeoning challenges of public surveillance
  • protecting patient privacy
  • recent developments in access to information
  • mandatory breach reporting in the health sector
  • the IPC’s education and awareness plan related to the Child, Youth and Family Services Act

We hope you will be able to join us in Hamilton on May 11 and be a part of this very important discussion.

A full agenda will be posted online in the coming weeks.

Be sure to share the news about this event with your colleagues.
