What this program does...
With over 3,600 babies born at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton every year, we are the largest provider of Women’s and Infants’ health services in the region. Our primary goal is to provide parents with informed support before, during and after the birthing process with a focused commitment on personalizing care for women and their families.
Our Women’s and Infants’ Program services include exemplary, compassionate care in our mother-baby unit and special care nursery as well as newborn assessment and breastfeeding support through implementation of our baby-friendly initiative.
How this program helps...
Our birthing unit is a state-of-the-art facility staffed with experienced physicians, obstetricians, midwives and a highly specialized nursing staff. As one of the premiere birthing centers in southern Ontario, we are recognized for providing an unsurpassed level of obstetric care for our patients and their families.
The Women's and Infants' Program is also pleased to offer an exciting online virtual tour of our birthing, special care nursery and mother and baby units. This virtual experience introduces families to the Women's and Infants' Program attributes as well as the exceptionally dedicated staff that will be caring for them upon their arrival to the unit.
