Celebrating Unstoppable Compassion: 2025 Mission Legacy Awards

Last week, St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton honoured 14 individuals and four teams with the Mission Legacy Award—St. Joseph’s Health System’s highest and most prestigious recognition.
More than a celebration of exceptional work, this award reflects the power of Unstoppable Compassion—compassion that transforms lives, strengthens communities and carries forward the enduring legacy of the Sisters of St. Joseph.
Each of this year’s recipients has created, innovated, problem-solved and given generously of their time and talents. They step forward not for acknowledgement, but for the good of St. Joe’s, their colleagues and the people we serve. Their peers—who witness their impact every day—nominated them for living the founding Sisters’ core values: dignity, respect, service, responsibility, justice and discovery.
Honourary plaques highlighting the recipients’ contributions and a recognition pin were presented by Mike Heenan, president of St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton and president and CEO of St. Joseph’s Health System, Carrie Fletcher, executive vice-president, people, culture and strategy, St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton and chief administration officer, St. Joseph’s Health System, and Peter Szota, vice chair, joint board of governors, St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton.
Congratulations to all of this year’s honourees. Your compassion and commitment continue to inspire our staff, patients and families every day.
