St. Joe’s launches shared strategic plan for 2025-30
Last week, St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton, St. Joseph’s Home Care and St. Joseph’s Villa Dundas launched our new shared strategic plan: An ambitious, shared approach to the next five years of caring for our communities and planning for the health care opportunities and challenges of the future. Our new mission, Unstoppable Compassion, is grounded in the foundation established by the Sisters of St. Joseph--compassionate, innovative care delivered when and where people need it.
Our new plan has three strategic directions: advance health, amplify impact and invest in teams. Grounded by our foundational commitments to innovate, champion equity diversity and inclusion as well as Indigenous Reconciliation, we will relentlessly pursue innovative solutions, academic excellence and research to help our teams and the communities we serve. Whether it’s bringing joy or comfort to patients at the bedside in hospital, caring for those who need a little extra help in the home or helping seniors live more independently in their community or as long-term care residents, we are delivering holistic, compassionate care.
With this plan, we will improve access to high-quality care by identifying and removing barriers through thoughtful collection of data and listening to the communities we serve. To deliver compassionate care every day we will grow and strengthen partnerships, improve our facilities, ensure our programs meet the evolving needs of the communities we serve and ensure our teams have the tools and resources they need.
From serving our patients in hospital, home, long-term care or in the community, to partnering with local and regional institutions to deliver exceptional patient care and experiences, we are delivering across the continuum of care. We are supporting our health care teams who show up every day ready to make a difference. In research, discovery and educational partnerships with major academic institutions, we are training and growing future leaders in innovation and quality care for everyone.
This plan was shaped by the contributions of many. Physicians, staff, learners, leaders, patients, residents, clients, volunteers and community partners of St. Joe’s created this together, through dialogue, openness, readiness for change and a bold vision for the future of our organizations and the people we serve with compassion and dignity.
