We’re proud to announce that St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton has been named the silver winner of the International Hospital Federation’s (IHF) prestigious Excellence Award for Social and Environmental Responsibility for our leadership and innovation in sustainability.

“Our mission to deliver excellent healthcare goes hand-in-hand with our responsibility to safeguard the environment,” says Karen Langstaff, Vice President Redevelopment, Corporate Support Services and Chief Sustainability Officer at St. Joe’s. “Winning this award is a testament to St. Joe’s dedication to sustainability and the positive impact it has on the care we provide.”
At St. Joe’s, we believe that caring for the environment is an essential part of caring for our patients and the community. By reducing our carbon footprint, optimizing energy use, and implementing sustainable waste management practices, we’ve not only improved the environmental impact, but also building a culture promoting environmental sustainability practices across the organization.
Receiving this award strengthens our resolve to continue making a difference in both healthcare and environmental responsibility, creating a better future for our patients, staff and community.
