Visitors with COVID-19 in last 10 days not permitted entry to hospital
A reminder that visitors, essential caregivers, and support people are not permitted to enter the hospital if they’ve had COVID-19 symptoms or a positive COVID-19 test in the last 10 days.
Last week’s Chief Medical Officer of Health recommended those experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 should stay home until symptoms are improving and avoid non-essential visits to high-risk individuals and settings (including health care institutions).
Visitors must complete the self-assessment before entering the hospital. Those who do not pass the self-assessment are asked to refrain from visiting the hospital for 10 days from when their symptoms started or their first positive COVID-19 test.
