Monthly feature: Demetree Kallergis, Laura Garrick & Joseph Mancinelli 2021 Mission Legacy Award winners
Late November we celebrated the 2021 Mission Legacy Award ceremony at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton. The Mission Legacy Award recognizes key individuals and departments / teams who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to contribute to the legacy and mission of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Hamilton, St. Joseph's Health System, St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton and its Foundation.
Each month we will feature a few of the award recipients to share a bit more about how they have made meaningful contributions throughout their time with our health care organization.
This month we feature Demetree Kallergis, Laura Garrick & Joseph Mancinelli.
Demetree Kallergis Demetree has been an integral member of the Digital Solutions team providing solid support to St. Joseph’s Healthcare during the COVID-19 pandemic. With exceptional skills and speed he developed custom software tools that impacted everyone who walked through the doors of St. Joe’s. His program applications have been effectively implemented by other organizations across the province. Demetree’s contributions are a reminder that patient care takes many forms.
Laura Garrick Laura is a respected and valued member of the Research Institute and community of St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton. With enviable energy and enthusiasm she is always seeking opportunities to spotlight the work of researchers at St. Joe’s. Laura has established ongoing contributions to the legacy and mission by exemplifying respect, thoughtful care, and compassion to the team and community.
Joseph Mancinelli Joseph has displayed great dedication to St. Joseph’s Healthcare in his efforts as a volunteer. An avid supporter of many initiatives to advance patient care and research, Joseph is an asset not only to the organization, but to everyone he encounters. His active and meaningful contributions help to further the mission of St. Joe’s.

CTU Central, Congregate Settings Covid-19 Response Team, MHAP Mobile Clinic, Dr. Peter Cook, Dr. Zain Chagla, Dee Frisina, Dr. Anne Boyle, Lily Waugh, Amanda Weatherston, Eric Bellmer, Heather Saunders, Dr. David Russell, Demetree Kallergis, Joseph Mancinelli, Adriaan Konstanje, Dr. Mark Crowther, Carola Brunner, Dr. Zain Chagla & Dr. Marek Smieja (Physician Team), and Laura Garrick.
A sincere thank you to each of the past and present award recipients, their hard work and dedication to our organization and the patients we serve is truly appreciated by our staff, patients and families.
