Happy Doctors' Day, 2022
On Doctors’ Day (May 1), we are reminded of the dedication of doctors and all health professionals who are caring for our patients and community while sustaining our health care system.
This year’s Doctors’ Day arrives at a difficult time during the pandemic. The world around us is ready to move forward, but we continue to face the realities of COVID-19 everyday.
It’s been a tough year, but together we’ve learned to pivot, adapt and innovate in a way that’s both creative and practical. From adjusting service and on-call schedules to working in unknown or even uncomfortable environments, St. Joe’s doctors continue to be there for our patients and community alongside all healthcare workers. As an academic health sciences centre, we continued to prioritize learning while cultivating an environment of enquiry and innovation. And, as a profession, carving out time to rest and recharge is essential rings truer than ever.
As we look towards pandemic recovery, we hope all doctors and St. Joe’s community members share our optimism that this experience will serve us in good stead as we continue to provide compassionate care to our community.
