St. Joe’s Patient and Family Advisors Launch Small Moment Big Impact Campaign
This spring, a team of Patient and Family Advisors came together to brainstorm ways they could show their support and appreciation for St. Joe’s healthcare workers through the pandemic recovery period.
The Patient and Family Advisor team is proud to launch the Small Moment Big Impact campaign, an initiative to share inspirational messages of gratitude with the St. Joe’s community. This campaign is especially meaningful today, during Patient Experience Week, because it’s an opportunity to honour, energize and celebrate healthcare workers who are impacting patient experiences everyday.
Over the coming weeks, we encourage you to read the short messages of appreciation from patients and family members will be showcased across St. Joe’s channels, including social media, screensavers, etc.
If you have a Small Moment Big Impact message of your own, all members of the St. Joe’s community – including healthcare workers, patients, families and community members – are invited to share a message of gratitude for St. Joe’s healthcare workers by sending a short (50-250 word) message to the PFAC team.
Keep reading for the Patient and Family Advisory Council letter to St. Joe’s healthcare workers, which sets the tone for more moments of gratitude and appreciation to come.
Patient and Family Advisory Council letter to St. Joe’s healthcare workers
To the Staff, Physicians and Leaders at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton,
Throughout the past two years of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have watched you work tirelessly to care for the members of our shared community. As a collective, you have risen to the challenge. It has been remarkable the compassionate care you have provided to our patients. You have persevered through an immensely difficult time without sacrificing quality of care and for that we are grateful.
We have watched you agonize over the very tough decisions that you’ve had to make where there were no good solutions or answers. Regardless, you stood strong, looked at every possible side of the equation and made the best decision for the people that you serve and for the employees that you support. We have agonized with you. We are very proud of each and every one of you.
We are grateful for the way in which you work to hear the voices of the patients and their families to ensure that the care we receive is of the highest calibre. Your human-centred approach to care has resulted in positive patient experiences during a very difficult time and for that, we will always be thankful.
Thank you to every single one of you for your tireless efforts. You are appreciated more than words can say. Thank you for everything that you have done and continue to do every single day.
Sincerely,
Your Patient & Family Advisory Council
