St. Joe’s seeks to add CT scanner to its emergency department to reduce wait times, code zeros
When emergencies happen, every second counts. That’s why, at the top of St. Joe’s holiday wish list this season is a new home for a life-saving CT scanner inside our busy Emergency Department, and you can help.
St. Joe’s Chief of Emergency Medicine, Dr. Greg Rutledge, and Chief of Diagnostic Imaging, Dr. Colm Boylan, recently spoke to Global News Hamilton about our Foundation’s plan to build a CT suite right inside Emergency. The upgraded space will provide our patients with quick access to a CT scan for fast, accurate diagnoses and access to care, saving time while also saving lives.
The CT scanner will also help speed up medical wait times for Emergency care. It will bring the total number of CT scanners at St. Joe’s to three to help catch up on a backlog of non-urgent diagnostic imaging appointments put on pause during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The good news is St. Joe’s already has a state-of-the-art CT scanner. We just need a little help from our community to build the space that will house this vital diagnostic imaging device in Emergency. To learn about the many benefits of this project, read the full story from Global News Hamilton.
