Monthly feature: Mr. Sonny Monzavi, Mr. John O’Neill and Mr. John Scozzari, 2019 Mission Legacy Award winners
Late November we celebrated the 2019 Mission Legacy Award ceremony at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton. The Mission Legacy Award recognizes key individuals who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to contribute to the legacy and mission of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Hamilton, St. Joseph's Health System, St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton and its Foundation.
Each month we will feature a few of the award recipients to share a bit more about how they have made meaningful contributions throughout their time with our health care organization.
Mr. Sonny Monzavi, previous Chair of the St. Joseph’s Joint Board of Governors As volunteer Chair of the St. Joseph’s Board of Governors, Sonny Monzavi served with distinction from 2017 to 2019. During his leadership the Board supported many successful initiatives including the implementation of the digital information system, Dovetale and the expansion of St. Joseph’s Integrated Comprehensive Care (ICC) program. Sonny’s selfless time commitment has been invaluable to St. Joe’s and perfectly reflects the Mission and Values of our Founders. |

A skilled Social Worker, colleagues admire his ability to make a personal connection with people from all backgrounds. John always ensures a fragile patient has a place to go when discharged. He’s hand delivered forgotten medication to a frequent ED visitor living in the area. He truly lives the Mission of the Sisters of St. Joseph. |

He tries to personally respond to incidents whether critical or minor, no matter which campus they occur. His 24/7 availability is less about the job, and more about who John is as an individual.
