RELOCATION NOTICE: Cardiology (DCD) Bishop Dowling Wing, Level 4, Charlton Campus
To our Patients & Community,
Following extensive review and consideration of operational efficiencies, the Cardiology Department (the DCD Unit) at the Charlton Campus, will be relocating to join Clinical Teaching Unit-North (CTU-North).
This move will take place on Wednesday, September 20th, 2017. The new location of the Cardiology Department will be the 6th Floor, Juravinski Innovation Tower.
This move is part of the General Internal Medicine (GIM) Bed Map initiative that will see multiple staff, department and clinical unit relocations and is a part of a larger strategy that will include the following benefits,
- Flex space on individual units to support a surge in volume and a geographic team environment
- Increase number of single rooms allowing more rapid access to isolation space
- Improved continuity of care and decrease in overall patient transfers
The next two phases of this project will provide additional flex space for CTU-C (Clinical Teaching Unit, Central) and the ALC Unit (Alternate Level of Care) will be relocated into the Mary Grace Wing with an expected completion date of June 2018.
This move has been communicated to our patients and signage throughout the organization will all be updated.
