St. Joseph's Dr. Massarella featured in CBC six-episode factual series "Keeping Canada Alive."
St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton’s Emergency room physician, Dr. Carys Massarella, is featured as part of CBC’s six-episode factual series titled, “Keeping Canada Alive.”
During the series’ third episode, which aired October 18th, 2015, Dr. Massarella helps transgendered youths through their transition at the Transcare Program Clinic. Her clinic is located in the Quest Community Health Centre in St. Catherines, and is among the largest in Canada for transgender patients. Dr. Massarella, who underwent transgender surgery in 2009, has been recognized as one of the world’s top 50 transgender icons by the Huffington Post.
