Celebrate with the Cleghorn Program
The Cleghorn Early Intervention Clinic is celebrating its 10th anniversary. Named in honour of the founding medical director Dr. Jock Cleghorn, the Cleghorn Early Intervention Clinic grew from Psychotic Disorders Clinic (PDC) at the McMaster University Medical Centre in 1986. After nearly 20 years of clinical care, research, and advocacy, the importance of early intervention took hold, and Hamilton became 1 of 5 cities chosen by the provincial government to establish an early psychosis program at St. Joe’s in 2005. Since that time, the Cleghorn Early Intervention Clinic has been at the forefront of early psychosis care. The program has lead cutting edge research projects and played a critical role in the development of policy and standards for early psychosis care across the province of Ontario. Most importantly, the Cleghorn program has helped hundreds of young people and their families in their own recovery from psychosis.
