May is Speech and Hearing Awareness Month
Did you know that one in ten Canadians have a communications disorder? This means millions of Canadians face the daily challenge of having a communications disorder in a world that is all about communicating the exchange of information.
During May we observe Speech and Hearing Awareness Month, where speech-language pathologists and audiologist come together to participate in a public awareness campaign to increase public awareness and sensitivities to the challenges of people managing communication difficulties.
During May Month here at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton our Speech and Language Pathology and Audiology Departments are doing their part to raise awareness through many initiatives this May.
