Fundraising Worth Dancing For
Each year the YWCA Hamilton takes a step towards ending women’s poverty and abuse with the annual Walk a Mile in her Shoes walk. This year, for the fourth year in a row, St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton has a team participating in the walk led by Rafal Tomczuk, Registered Nurse, St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton.
Last year, St, Joseph’s emergency department team was the top-earning team coming out with an outstanding $12, 000 for the YWCA! This year they are hoping to beat that goal and raise $20, 000 for a cause that is close to their hearts. Working in the emergency department, nurses see the devastation of abuse daily; together they unite to take steps towards ending abuse and poverty.
In support of team St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton, the team is dancing towards the YWCA’s $85, 000 goal by hosting a Mother’s Day Dance this Saturday at Mulberry Coffee House on James Street North. The dance is set to begin at 7:30 p.m. and will wrap up at 11:30 p.m. – the evening hopes to promote and engage new team members while listening to great music, and enjoying some cups of coffee.
