Mohawk College Students Random Act of Kindness
The students from Mohawk College’s Community Integration through Co-op Education Program (CIC) learned firsthand how doing a random act of kindness goes a long way; this week the attention was focused on the Mood Disorders Inpatient Unit at the West 5th Campus.
During their visit to St. Joe’s, a group that consisted of staff and students presented flowers to the Waterfall Level 1 Mood Disorders Unit to brighten up their common areas.
“The impact of this generous act goes far beyond these walls, a random act of kindness goes a long way in shaping the community we live in” says Sharon Simons, Program Manager for Mood Disorders.
In the tradition of passing-it-forward, Sharon presented the CIC group with their own token; a Legacy Box created by one of their patients. The small painted box that is created by discharged patients for newly admitted patients is filled with hope and love.
We would like to thank the Mohawk College students for reminding us all that any gesture big or small will always help to brighten someones day.
