The “High Performance New Construction” initiative provides incentives for building owners and planners who design and implement energy efficient equipment within their new space.
“We’re proud to support conservation efforts in our community and reduce our environmental footprint.” said Brian Smith, Chief Conservation Officer of Horizon Utilities “Through new and enhanced conservation programs for our business customers; we’re able to assist the smallest of retail stores to the largest industrial complexes.”
By designing and constructing buildings that integrate energy efficiency into their core, businesses have the opportunity to take advantage of a proven cost effective approach to save energy and costs over the long-term.
“It’s gratifying to know that a building that was designed to support excellent patient care also supports a sustainable environment,” Karen Langstaff, Chief Planning Officer, St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton.
Making energy efficient decisions for new buildings can reduce operating costs, produce fewer greenhouse gas emissions and be a comfortable place in which to live, work or play.
