Tackling Depression: Focus on Hormones and Mood
On Friday November 28, 2014, a group of mental health leaders in women’s health concerns and mood disorders will be hosting an event for physicians and healthcare professionals focusing on hormones and Mood. Tackling Depression: Focus on Hormones and Mood will take place at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton’s West 5th Campus.
Please join us for a day of lecture and discussion by leading specialists on current approached to understanding and treating women struggling with hormones and mood.
The event will begin on Friday, November 28, 2014 with Dr. Roger McIntyre, Professor of Psychiatry and Pharmacology, University of Toronto who will discuss Mood Disorders as Metabolic Disorder. Dr. Valerie Taylor, Psychiatrist-in-chief, Women’s College hospital will examine Weighty Matters: Links between Obesity and mental health. Next, Dr. Luciano Minuzzi, Assistant Professor, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences, McMaster University will present on the topic of Estrogen, Menopause and Women’s Mental Health. Lastly, Dr. Zena Samaan, Associate Professor, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neuroscience, McMaster University discusses An Evaluation of Testosterone as an Antidepressant.
This event is open to physicians and healthcare professionals. Pre-registration is required.
