How is COVID-19 impacting mental health and addictions services at St. Joseph’s?

We’re still open! St. Joseph’s continues to offer care for our patients, with the following changes:

  1. Telephone and virtual appointments. Most services will be offered by telephone or secure video visit. In-person appointments are offered only when clinically necessary.
  2. We are offering telephone support/consultations to physicians and community partners seeking treatment advice regarding mental health and addictions. Please call Connect at 905-522-1155 ext. 36499 for more information.
  3. Connect is completing COVID-19 screening over the telephone with all patients scheduled for an in-person visit. If patients fail the COVID-19 screening, they will be asked to reschedule their appointment or offered a phone/virtual appointment.
  4. St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton is completing COVID-19 screening at the hospital entrance with patients and visitors. Masks are mandatory inside the building. If a patient or visitor fails the COVID-19 screening, they may be turned away from entrance to the building.
  5. Increased wait times. With an increased strain on our healthcare system, our services are experiencing higher than normal wait times. We thank you for your patience. To support your patient while they wait, we have created a list of general resources: While You Wait - Resources for Patients
