How is COVID-19 impacting mental health and addictions services at St. Joseph’s?

As we continue to adapt to the changing COVID-19 situation, our services are changing too.

  1. Prioritizing essential care needs. Many non-urgent outpatient programs were placed on hold during the pandemic as we responded to the increased demands on our healthcare system. As we return to standard service operations, we seek to prioritize urgent care needs first.

  2. Increased wait times. Please anticipate longer than normal wait times throughout the triage, assessment and treatment process.

  3. Virtual care. Many services will be offered by telephone or secure video visit. In-person appointments may be available if needed. For all in-person visits, patients will be required to wear a mask at all times.

  4. Consultative services. To respond to the needs of our community, St. Joseph’s is offering provider-to-provider telephone consultations for general treatment advice. For more information, contact Connect at 905-522-1155 ext. 36499.
