Hamilton Regional Laboratory Medicine Program
What this program does...
The Hamilton Regional Laboratory Medicine Program (HRLMP) is a jointly owned program between St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton and Hamilton Health Sciences for the delivery of laboratory medicine to Hamilton hospitals.
The HRLMP’s mission is to provide leadership in all aspects of laboratory medicine including clinical service, education and research, with the pursuit of excellence, encouragement of innovation and adherence to exemplary professional standards. This supports the missions of the participating hospitals and McMaster University.
The HRLMP employs approximately 700 staff that provides inpatient and regional centralized laboratory services in the areas of anatomical pathology, clinical chemistry, immunology, hematology, genetics, microbiology, and transfusion medicine. The HRLMP operates LRC Hamilton (Laboratory Reference Centre) and is a major provider of specialized and reference clinical laboratory services within the Hamilton Niagara Haldimand Brant Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) and beyond. The HRLMP provides specimen collection services to hospital clinic patients at four hospitals.
