What this program does...
The ENT, Head and Neck Surgery Clinic focuses on:
Otolaryngology (ENT): the assessment and treatment of disorders of hearing, balance, the nose and pharynx (throat).
Head and Neck Surgery: The assessment and treatment of benign and malignant tumours, conditions of the mouth, pharynx, larynx (voice box), neck, thyroid, parathyroid, sinuses, salivary glands and skin of the face.

How this program helps...
This is a teaching clinic through the Division of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at McMaster University.
Patients with disorders in the areas of emphasis are evaluated clinically, and by appropriate diagnostic testing. A treatment plan is developed with the patient and followed up after intervention is arranged.
We ask that you do not bring any valuables with you as the hospital cannot be responsible for lost or stolen personal items.

Enter the Main Door (entrance off Charlton Avenue). If entering from a different entrance please make your way to the Mary Grace Wing. Proceed straight ahead, past information desk and take elevators to 8th floor.
On exiting the elevator turn right and right again and follow the signs for the ENT-Head and Neck Clinic (halfway down the hallway on the right hand side).

Registration Procedures
When a patient arrives at the ENT-Head and Neck Surgery Clinic, he or she will be registered by the Registration Clerk and the surgeon’s administration clerk. The patient will then consult with the surgeon and further follow-up i.e. surgery, referrals, investigations will be arranged at that time or shortly after the appointment.
Please bring along to your visit a list of medications (if any), any relevant imaging, and any information that will help with your meeting with the surgeon.
If you have any questions following your visit, please contact the physician you consulted with (see Your Care Team above).
Note: We are not able to estimate wait time for you to see your physician. There may be delays at times due to unforeseen circumstances. However we will keep you informed of any delays and appreciate your patience and understanding.
For Speech-Language Pathology Services:
You will receive a letter in the mail that confirms your first appointment. It will contain details about the time and location of the appointment. Please bring along a list of your current medications and information about your medical history (including allergies). Registration will occur through the Department of Speech-Language Pathology.
After Your Visit
- You will be given information about the results of any assessments that were completed.
- We will discuss a plan of care/service for you that meets your individual requirements.
- Your Speech-Language Pathologist will make additional appointments for you or your child as needed.
- Information regarding your assessment will be shared with the referring physician and others at your request.
