This person does not require a COVID-19 test.
- This person should isolate (stay home) for 24 hours from when the symptom started and not leave except for a medical emergency. Learn how to self-isolate.
- After 24 hours, if their symptom is improving they can return to school/child care when they feel well enough to do so. They do not need to get tested.
- After 24 hours, if the symptom persists, worsens, or they are developing new symptoms continue to stay home and talk to your doctor/health care provider for more advice, including if they need a COVID-19 test.
