Dr. Jill Rudkowski practices Critical Care and Internal Medicine at St. Joe’s. A member of the St. Joe’s team for almost 14 years, she also leads the Clerkship team for the McMaster medical school. Jill is passionate about education and works with local critical care research teams to ensure good outcomes for survivors of critical illness.

Jill formed this Vaccine Conversations team so that her colleagues — all St. Joes’s staff, physicians and learners — would have access to local experts to ask their vaccine questions.

Dr. Ciaran Scallan practices Respirology and Internal Medicine at St. Joe’s. He has a particular interest in caring for patients with advanced lung disease and providing lung transplant expertise. Having cared for patients with COVID both inside and out of the hospital Ciaran hopes to bring some of this experience to the table when discussing vaccines.

Dr. Erick Duan is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Critical Care, Department of Medicine at McMaster University. He has looked after COVID patients on the ward and intensive care unit as a staff internist, and intensivist at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton and Niagara Health.

Dr. Zahira Khalid is general internist at St Joseph's since July 2009 and current program director for the General Internal Medicine program. Clinical practice includes inpatient and outpatient general internal medicine and medical step down.

Dr. Rajendar Hanmiah has been practicing General internal Medicine (GIM) since 1997 in academic hospitals. His focus has always been on patient care and the health system. He trained and practiced in Manitoba, but moved to Hamilton and has been practicing at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton for the past 15 years. Dr. Hanmiah has been heavily involved in physician education during his career, working as a CTU director for over 10 years and as a program director for GIM for eight years.
