3 years of COVID-19: our journey documented through photos

Courage, Care and Compassion through COVID-19
St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton’s journey documented through photos

On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization declared a global pandemic.

Over the past three years, St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton has captured, through a series of journalistic photographs, the courage and compassion shown by our staff, the strength of our patients, and the emotional toll and loss that so many in our community experienced.

Moments in time are captured in these photographs. And it is through them that we honour the dedicated healthcare workers of St. Joe's and the brave patients they served.

We invite our community and healthcare workers to take a moment to view a selection of photos taken at each of our three campuses starting Friday, March 3. They will be on display until March 17. The collections are a space to reflect on our role, experiences and the raw emotions we felt during the pandemic.

You're not alone, we're here for you.

Our healthcare workers have made a selfless commitment to care for our community during COVID-19. At work and at home, everyone has shown incredible strength. But even the strongest among us need help sometimes. Anxiety, exhaustion and compassion fatigue are all normal responses in this pandemic. It's ok to say it: this is really hard.
