

Flu, COVID & Cold Clinic for adults and children
Hamilton’s emergency departments are experiencing increased volumes resulting in long wait times. If you:
- are unable to see your family doctor or don’t have a family doctor
- are experiencing symptoms listed below
- don’t need emergency care
Receive timely care at one of Hamilton’s two Flu, COVID and Cold clinics:
- Book an appointment at McMaster Children’s Hospital for children 17 and under.
- Book an appointment at St. Joe’s for adults and children.

*Please book one appointment per patient. If you have multiple family members requiring an appointment, you must book separate appointments for each. St. Joe's Hamilton is unable to accommodate walk-ins.
Clinic hours: Monday – Friday 4:30 – 7:30 p.m. | Saturday/Sunday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Location: Medical Outpatient Clinic, Level 0 at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton West 5th Campus | 100 West 5th Street, Hamilton, Ontario L9C 0E3
Access the clinic through the Outpatient Entrance on the lower level of the hospital, across from Mohawk College on Fennell Ave. Please do not access the clinic through other hospital entrances or walk through the hospital.
When to book an appointment: Please book an appointment to be assessed by a doctor at St. Joe's Flu, COVID & Cold Clinic if:
- Your symptoms are not improving after a few days, despite using common over-the-counter medications as indicated on the label, such as ibuprofen (Advil), acetaminophen (Tylenol), nasal rinses and cold/flu medications
- You are particularly worried about any of your symptoms
Remember: cold and flu symptoms may last 1-2 weeks and can fluctuate during that time
Symptoms of flu, COVID and cold illnesses include:
- Fever
- Cough
- Sore throat
- Runny or stuffy nose
- Chills
- Nausea, vomiting or diarrhea
- Loss of taste or smell
- Headache
- Muscle aches
Important: If you are experiencing a medical emergency, shortness of breath, chest pain or new feelings of confusion, call 9-1-1 or visit an emergency department.
