Starting this week, construction will begin in the visitors/staff parking area located behind the J Wing. This process, scheduled to take 14 weeks to complete, will take place in two phases with the closure of one half of the area at a time. Signage will be situated in the affected areas and the parking metre will be relocated to ensure easy access for visitors. Though there may be increased truck traffic at times, we anticipate a smooth process. Construction staff will not be permitted to park in spots other than those areas allotted to them near the Beckfield Building. Additional details will be communicated regarding further traffic re-routing as necessary.

Early Works will prepare the site for construction of the new hospital, expected to begin in early 2011. The work includes expansion of the parking lot behind J wing, underground work to reroute the building’s water, hydro, gas lines and telecommunications cabling, and renovation of the Beckfield Building.
