The redevelopment of the West 5th Campus will enable us to bring all of our mental health and addiction services together under one roof in a modern, comfortable, professional and welcoming setting. Our centre will provide patients with access to the best possible prevention, diagnosis and treatment services in an environment they will be comfortable in.
The new West 5th Campus will be central to care in our community. It will provide Diagnostic Services, like MRI and breast screening and medical clinics for the community. The building will also offer 14 inpatient units and many outpatient clinics to serve our client’s needs. Integrating community and client needs into one facility helps contribute to the de-stigmatization of mental health care.
The design of the building communicates hope and is inviting and welcoming to everyone. Natural light will stream into bedrooms, clinics and public spaces.
Windows will look out to views of natural landscape and the escarpment – all promoting wellness and comfort.
Each inpatient room will be a single bedroom that encourages independence, privacy and safety.
Space is being built to be multi-functional, so clinical, research or educational work can take place throughout the building. Presentations and conferences will take place in the new Auditorium and Conference Centre.
