Continuing the conversation about suicide loss: St. Joe’s looking to feature new voices in Miss You Most photo exhibit
Many of us have been touched by suicide and we know few subjects can be as difficult to discuss. Suicide loss is often a hidden experience.
As a leader in mental health, St. Joe’s created the Miss You Most exhibit in 2015 with the goal of starting conversations that would reduce stigma, increase awareness of suicide prevention and break down barriers to important resources that could save a life. The exhibit features photos of people who have experienced a suicide loss, along with their own writings.
As we approach the ten-year anniversary of the exhibit, we know the conversation isn’t over and there are more stories of loss, recovery and hope to tell.
St. Joe’s will be expanding the exhibit this year to include new voices and stories that support patients and loved ones through experiences with suicide loss.
If you are interested in sharing your experience and having your photo included in the exhibit, please contact Fiona Wilson, manager, fwilson@stjoes.ca by May 15 to share your interest.
Photos will be taken on location within an hour of Hamilton from June 5-7 by Scott Chisholm of Left Behind By Suicide, who took the original photos displayed in the exhibit.
The new photos and stories in the exhibit will be shared on World Suicide Prevention Day, September 10, 2025.
The Miss You Most exhibit is on display at St. Joe's West 5th Campus, in the Level 0 corridor by the Medical Outpatient clinics, and can be viewed at any time.
