St. Joe’s welcomes first baby of 2025
The new year has brought with it a bundle of joy as we celebrate the first baby born at St. Joe’s in 2025! Baby Alexandra made her grand entrance at 12:03 a.m. on January 1.
Born to proud parents Ellie and Matt Miller, baby girl weighed in at 6lb 8oz. This is the second daughter for the parents of the Hamilton area. Both mom and baby are doing well and the St. Joe’s care teams are overjoyed to have played a role in the safe arrival of yet another New Year’s Baby.
"It feels surreal!" said dad Matt about baby's arrival just after midnight.
"We are just so grateful that's she's here. She's our beautiful rainbow," said mom Ellie while snuggling their new daughter.
Baby Alexandra’s arrival was celebrated with a gift basket filled with a St. Joe’s Teddy Bear, an “I was Born at St. Joseph’s Hospital” onesie, cap and scratch mittens, a book and a gift card to Babies ‘R’ Us courtesy of St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation and the Gift Shop in the Hospital. Mom, dad and baby were also treated to a stay in the private comfort of the Charlton Suites located in our Newborn Care Unit.
More than 3,000 babies are born each year at St. Joe’s. The Women’s Health, Newborn and Pediatric Program is comprised of a multidisciplinary team who work together to provide holistic, compassionate care and support to our tiniest patients.
