Research Award Day at St. Joe's!
Today we are celebrating our first annual Research Award Day in the main lobby at St. Joe’s Charlton Campus to acknowledge our Father Sean O’Sullivan Research award recipients and TD Post-Doctoral Fellowship recipient.
Research remain's a top priority at St. Joe's and we are proud to work in full partnership with McMaster University’s world renowned Faculty of Health Sciences.

Rachel’s research tries to uncover mechanisms to prevent certain forms of acute kidney injury. In the future, her research could lead to new prevention strategies and therapeutic drugs developed to reduce or prevent kidney damage.

Guowei’s research looks at predicting risk of stroke and bleeding for patients taking a popular blood-thinner named warfarin. His research could help determine when to prescribe warfarin, and how to improve clinical outcomes with the drug.

Elizabeth is working on developing a treatment for peanut allergies using peptide immunotherapy. In the future, her work could improve the quality of life for people with peanut allergies and prevent life-threatening allergic reactions.

St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton has been awarded a TD Grant in Medical Excellence. The TD Bank Financial Group is committed to investing in the future by helping to ensure that research post-doctoral fellows have access to funds to further their research endeavours.
Matilda’s research works to develop and implement a psychological treatment for Irritable Bowel Syndrome. In the future, her research could lead to new psychological treatments for patients with a number of functional gastrointestinal disorders. Matilda will be working with a number of psychologists in our Mood Disorders Program and our Anxiety Treatment and Research Centre at St. Joe's West 5th Campus.
