The Emergency Department at St. Joe's is hosting a bi-annual Winter Wear Drive for the less fortunate in our community on December 6th at St. Joseph's Parish, 260 Herkimer Street from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. The Emergency Department is collecting clean coats, boots, mitts, hats and other winter wear across the hospital as well as monetary donations. St. Joseph's Healthcare Foundation is also supporting this great initiative by donating $500.00 to purchase extra coats for those in need.
Jennifer Swant, Registered Nurse started the Winter Wear Drive at St. Joe's, “Working downtown I see the need in our community, patients leave the hospital in the middle of the winter with no coat," states Jennifer. "Two years ago there was a huge crowd lined up down the street two hours before the doors even opened!”
Marianne Domjancic who is also a Registered Nurse at St. Joe’s is excited to be helping out with the Winter Wear Drive this year, “I am fortunate in my life and I want to give back to those in need,” says Marianne. "Working in the Emergency Department this coat drive builds great team spirit and comradely bringing us closer together as coworkers." As the cold weather approaches St. Joe's is joining together hospital wide to help those in our community.
