What an amazing accomplishment! St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton is excited to congratulate Dr. Marilyn Krozekwa on her achievement of being the first Canadian to complete the three races known as the swim marathoners Triple Crown. The Triple Crown of open water swimming includes Manhattan Island, the English Channel and the Strait of San Pedro located across the coast of California.
“Swimming has always been a big part of my life. It helps me unwind and put all my thoughts in order at the end of a stressful day,” says Dr. Korzekwa. “I get some of my best inspirations on how to help my patients when I am swimming. It turns my left brain off and allows my right brain to be heard.”
Only 93 people have completed swimming the Triple Crown! St. Joe’s is extremely proud of Dr. Krozekwa’s triumph. Finding her true passion with the support of her husband and son Dr. Krozekwa states, “If I go without being able to swim for any length of time, I start to feel like a fish out of water.”
Dr. Krozekwa’s swims raise money for the Good Sheppard Centers in Hamilton. Click here to help support this cause.
