Congratulations to Dr. Deb Cook & Dr. Jean Chamberlain: Appointed to the Order of Canada
Two phenomenal St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton physicians have been appointed to the Order of Canada today! Both have been on staff as physicians for many years and we are so proud of the advancements they have made to the national and international healthcare landscape.
Dr. Deb Cook: Officer of the Order of Canada
Dr. Deb Cook, an exemplary physician at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton's Intensive Care Unit, is an international renowned researcher who is being honoured for her leadership in developing a national network of critical care research and for improving intensive care procedures globally. Dr. Cook is also a clinical epidemiology and biostatistics professor at the Department of Medicine at McMaster University.
Dr. Jean Chamberlain Froese: Member of the Order of Canada
Dr. Jean Chamberlain Froese was appointed for her efforts to advance maternal health throughout the globe, including working to make childbirth safer in Yemen, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Pakistan. In 2005, she founded the organization Save the Mothers, an academic program based in Uganda that promotes safe motherhood. She is also obstetrician and director of the International Women's Health Program at McMaster University.
