Innovator 2013 - Highlighting Research & Innovation
Thursday, December 12 2013—HAMILTON, ON— St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton’s annual research publication entitled Innovator is now available. As one of Canada’s Top 40 Research Hospitals, Innovator 2013 tells the stories of researchers, research studies and healthcare innovations that take place within St. Joe’s.
The theme of this year’s report is Local Research, Global Impact. We are pleased to share with you how the achievements of our researchers benefit patient care within our institution, and how their discoveries advance health care beyond our community’s borders on a global scale.
St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton’s researchers collaborate and lead multidisciplinary research teams around the world. Working in full partnership with McMaster University’s Faculty of Health Sciences, our researchers travel the globe sharing their knowledge and discoveries with international health care leaders.
“Like the excellent care they expect from St. Joseph’s, our patients regard research as a key element of our programs and something they value strongly,” states Dr. David Higgins. “Research offers hope to others through discovery and the acquisition of new knowledge.”
Whether it be pioneering unconventional treatments for C. difficile or conducting the world’s largest trial of autoimmune renal disease, the transnational achievements included in this year’s Innovator were made possible through the creativity, diligence and determination of our researchers.
We hope that you enjoy their stories.
