What this program does...
The Diagnostic Imaging department houses a state-of-the-art imaging facility. Our Imaging Team is made up of a dynamic group of professionals working together to make the department a centre of excellence in health-care delivery and patient care.
Over two hundred thousand procedures and examinations are performed in the Diagnostic Imaging Department at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton annually.

Please bring the form or requisition signed by your ordering physician with you. All other imaging services, exams, diagnostic tests or procedures require a pre-booked appointment. Ontario Breast Screening Program
This provincial program provides clinical breast examinations by specially trained technologists, as well as instruction in breast self-examination and mammography. The aim of the program is to reduce mortality from breast cancer in Ontario through early detection. Women over the age of 50 are encouraged to attend the clinic through self-referral or referral from your physician. There is no fee for examination. Our Charlton Campus and King Campus OBSP sites are both affiliated sites to the Hamilton Niagara OBSP HUB site located at Chedoke Hospital, Sir William Osler Building. Academic Radiology
Diagnostic Imaging at McMaster University is based out of Hamilton Health Sciences and St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton. There are three large teaching hospitals at Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS), including McMaster University Medical Centre, Hamilton General Hospital and the Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre, as well as the Chedoke site. Combined with the Diagnostic Imaging department at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton (SJHH), there are approximately 64 radiology faculty members, 4 Nuclear Medicine clinical faculty and 11 basic scientists. The regional Juravinski Cancer Centre (JCC) provides comprehensive cancer for the region. All sites are affiliated with McMaster University. Combined, HHS, SJHH and JCC have over 1,500 inpatient beds, as well as many active and varied outpatient programs. As a large tertiary referral centre for the Central West Region of Ontario and its population base of 2.3 million people, our facilities, programs and faculty members in Hamilton offer a comprehensive spectrum of health and disease expertise. Diagnostic Imaging: Please take a ticket from the automated number dispenser located on the wall outside the Antonio and Maria DiCenzo Diagnostic Imaging Centre reception area and take a seat in the waiting area for your number to be called.
