OverviewSt. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton is an acknowledged leader in the provision of psychiatric care. Our reputation is based on the quality of care provided to our patients, the expertise of our staff, the innovative nature of our programs and the pioneering quality of our research.
This is a very exciting time for our mental health program. Advances in science and rehabilitation are rapidly dissolving the artificial division between mind and body. There is increasing hope that new treatments and new approaches in rehabilitation can make a dramatic difference. Our vision is to pioneer innovation so we can radically reduce the disability associated with mental illness.
The St. Joseph's Healthcare Mental Health & Addiction Program provides a continuum of services from primary care, through crisis and acute services, to highly specialized tertiary programs.
We have developed a comprehensive variety of clinics and outpatient services providing highly specialized care to hundreds of patients every year. In our emergency and crisis services highly trained teams of health care professionals are available around the clock to help patients and families deal with acute psychiatric emergencies. When hospitalization is needed there are ten inpatient programs providing comprehensive and flexible services. The goal in all of our programs is to provide the latest treatments with an emphasis on exemplary caring.
We know it is common for persons with mental illness to experience stigma and barriers to social integration. We are deeply committed to eradicating stigma and to promoting the fullest recovery for every person. Our mental health program at St Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton is committed to enhancing the mental health of the population.
