Assessment – An area within the emergency department serving patients with less threatening injuries. Patients are assessed, treated and discharged home.
Emergency Psychiatry Team – Located adjacent to the Emergency Department. An area within the emergency department where psychiatry staff work collaboratively with the ER staff to support and care for patients in crisis.
Dr. Harry Hotz Pediatric Short Stay Unit – 24 hour outpatient observation, assessment, and treatment program serving pediatric patients in our emergency room, and providing quality care through admission to discharge home.
NEW Emergency Department Clinic – Starting January 19, 2009 we are implementing a new clinic, from 6:00-10:00 p.m., at St. Joseph's Charlton Campus Emergency Department for patients with minor healthcare problems. This initiative is intended to improve the flow of patients through the Emergency Department, with a view to decreasing wait times.
If you visit our Emergency Department, the triage nurse will be happy to assess you, and will determine if your healthcare needs are appropriate for our new Emergency Department Clinic.
