Labour & Delivery

St. Joseph's has 11 birthing rooms where you can labour, deliver and recover. Two birthing rooms contain whirlpool tubs. The rooms have been decorated to look more like home.

There is a an individual whirlpool tub in a room decorated like an aquarium. It's a relaxing way to assist with contractions. You can spend a little bit of time or most of your labour in the whirlpool tub.

Donations from the St. Joseph's Health Care Foundation decorated our family lounge. It is a comfortable way for women in early labour and their visitors to wait, watch TV, play cards or rest.

The assessment area will be your first stop where it will be determined if your water has broken or if you are in labour. You may also have a non-stress test, blood work taken or receive medication in this area.
