About the Freedom of Information (FOI) Office
St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton has established the FOI Office to handle matters related to the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. The office oversees implementation and administration of access and protection of privacy in the Hospital.
Key FOI Office responsibilities include:
- coordinating the processing of access requests under the Act;
- education supporting Hospital compliance with the Act and its principles; and
- protecting the personal privacy of staff and affiliates of the Hospital.
President
The President is the final decision maker for access requests under the Act.
Chief Privacy Officer
The role of the Chief Privacy Officer includes liaison and communication with the Information and Privacy Commissioner/Ontario ("the Commissioner"), including appeals, privacy matters and consultations.
FOI Coordinator
The role of the FOI Coordinator includes process and communication with those individuals making access requests under FIPPA.
