Code Red

The purpose of the Code Red policy and procedure is to define the process for staff, visitors, and patients to respond appropriately in case of a fire, fire alarm or smell of smoke.

Remember if you discover a fire follow the actions outlined in the acronym REACT

Remove occupants or persons in immediate danger

Enclose area door(s), closed to confine fire or smoke

Activate alarm using the nearest pull station

Call switchboard @ ext. 7777

Try and fight the fire, if it is safe to do so and only if you have    been trained to use the extinguishers
