Respiratory Therapy Student Program

The Respiratory Therapy Student Program currently run out of St. Joseph’s Healthcare is affiliated with The Michener Institute of Applied Health Sciences and is a future partner with Conestoga College. St. Joseph's HealthCare is accredited for 6 students to be based here and has the ability to take on more students in some of the specialty areas such as Pulmonary Function Testing and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. The students that are based out of St. Joseph's HealthCare, Hamilton, have the opportunity for a very unique learning experience. Together with the Hamilton Health Sciences Corporation the students rotate through 5 different hospital sites and are exposed to different clinical leaders, educators and staff Respiratory Therapists at all sites. The clinical year is a 41 week year in which the students rotate through the following areas: ICU, Wards, Rehab, OR, PFT, Neonatal/Pediatric, ER and Homecare.
